UNIT DESCRIPTION
This unit covers the competencies required to carry out management of Basic databases
systems. It involves identification of database concepts, designing of database, Creation and
manipulation of database, database testing e.g. using dummy data, implementation of the
designed database, establishing transaction and concurrency mechanism and managing
database security.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

By the end of this course you will learn how to :

1. Identify database concepts

2. Design Basic database

3. Create and manipulate
database objects

4. Perform database testing

5. Print Database Objects

Requirements

To undertake this course you are expected to have the following:

  1. stable internet connection
  2. laptop, tablet or a smartphone
Assessment

The course will have:

  1. CAT ONE assessment which will amount to 30% of the overall grade 
  2. End of course assessment amounting to 70% of the overall grade
